Inspired by all the beautiful coloured leaves here in Sydney I have recently teamed up with Gentlemen Take Pictures for a male fashion editorial. See some more on my website here, if you like.
It’s time for soups and hot water bottles now, and I no longer go swimming at the beach.
The seasons have changed, and I love Sydney for it’s blue skies and sunny afternoons.
We also finally ordered a couch and settling up for general coziness.
I am just so in love with all the gorgeous warm colours around.
Happy change of seasons, where ever you are!

The other day I got up way before sunrise, for an early morning photoshoot by the beach.
I thought I might fill you in with a little of my latest makeup artist work here in Sydney,
especially as you Berliners are usually up for a little street style!
It was lovely being able to see the sun peeking up above the water and while I was doing the makeup
on location in the dark, (with some work lights obvsly) it turned out to be a great shoot.
More on the edgy street style side as opposed to my romantic, dreamy wedding shoots.
The model was a great talent Shana who is signed with The Agency Models in Sydney.
The photos are by the aspiring fashion photographer Jack Grayson.
There is something magical about working in Sydney, while I am as super busy and working the early and the long hours it feels like the sun recharges me in the meantime.
P.S: Even if you are not in Australia, don’t forget to wear your SPF daily girls, to keep your skin glowing, healthy and young!

While I have been busy applying flawless wedding makeup to beautiful glowing brides, groomed and styled men fashion editorials and applied for some exciting opportunities.
I am a little flat out by now and can’t wait for our upcoming little Easter getaway.
We are going on a roadtrip down south to Jervis Bay in New South Wales.
Where you can watch dolphins and wales. We are staying in a little cottage right be water and I am daydreaming away already while typing this. Check out the cute little luxury cottages we are staying in!
I love how they are all painted in different beautiful colours. I am crossing all my fingers, that we will spot some dolphins!
Although it has been still warm so far it’s technically Autumn here and the weather can cool down now any day.
Only 4 more sleeps and we are off!
Here is what I will bring with me for this little Autumn getaway:
Shoes: These are from Koah and look just like the perfect ankle boots for this trip.
A little Bag: French Connection Small Crossbody Bag.
Navy Nailpolish! This one is by Bio Sculpture.
A Hat: Jones New York Wide Brim Fedora
A natural lipstick: Like Nars Mayflower.
What are you up to this Easter?

This month it’s all about keeping the balance for me.
The weather is holding up strong over here, we are having still summer temperatures,
while I have been super busy buzzing around. Having early starts and late nights.
So what keeps me sane and strong for all the work?
Here are my essentials for balance this month:
Green Smoothies: Healthy fresh food makes all the difference, and although I don’t have the time to prepare complicated meals right now,
chucking some fruit and veggies into a blender and pressing a button can be done in 5min. I make a different one every day.
My Favourite right now: 1 banana, 1 pear, 1 apple, 1 handful of baby spinach, 1/2 cup of soya or almond milk, 1 tsp. chia seeds, 1/2 cup water, 1 tsp Supergreens Powder. This recipe makes about 3 sundae glasses of smoothie! Enjoy.
Comfy shoes: I do like to look somewhat professional at work and won’t rock up to a shoot or wedding in flip flops (although I sometimes have to bring them along when shooting on the beach!) So: Comfortable chic shoes, that look like I am happy to work in them all day, but still somewhat stylish.
The ones above are from Geox. There is nothing worse then painful feet, on a long day of work, it’s so distracting, flat shoes are the way to go!
Little Lunch Break Swims: Whenever I can I sneak out for a quick swim in my lunch break, not just a little exercise and movement, but also great relaxation for sore muscles. I also get the best ideas why swimming and find it clears my head.
Love Balm: So small, it fits in every pocket, it keeps my lips nicely moisturized, soothes any dehydrated areas or dry patches and makes a great cuticle balm too. It smells divine of natural rose oil too, the smell that opens the heart chakra. Jurlique Love Balm in Rose, sooo goood!
What keeps you balanced when you are super busy?

Stained lips image via Fashion Gone Rogue
One of the challenges with daily makeup is how to find a cute lipstick that is kiss proof and doesn’t budge throughout the day.
I am not a fan of most long wearing lipsticks for a good reason: They do stay, but they don’t last nicely.
Instead they dry the lips and flake off over time. Not nice.
Most of the lovely hydrating creamy lipsticks that so look gorgeous however wear off rather quickly.
Which is fine, if you are happy to top up your lipstick. This is definitely the better option.
A perfect solution however is to use a Lip Stain! They stain the skin of your lips for the day without changing the texture. It’s pretty big at the moment you see natural stained lips a lot on the catwalks lately. If you prefer a sheen, you can easily wear your favourite gloss over the top, just a dot in the center of your lips, will give you the volume and shine you love without turning everything into a sticky mess. As a professional makeup artist I love using Becca Beach Tint, Stila Crush Lip and ans Cheek stain, and Benefit Tints they all do great stains in a wide colour range.

How to master the stained lip:
1.Exfoliate your lips first, to make sure you remove all dry skin.
2. Moisturize your lips with a hydrating lipbalm.
3. Remove excess lipbalm by pressing lips onto a tissue.
4. Apply lipstain- let it set for a few seconds. Layer lipgloss over the top if you like.
5. KISS!

Hey everyone, here is a little round up from Liv in Sydney lately.
It’s been wonderful,busy and blessed.
We finally got a little car, which helps so much with all the freelance work in makeup I am doing here.
Almost daily swims, plenty of Yoga and more work, kept me very occupied.
Sydney has been good to me very good indeed.
Above a a few little sneak peaks on what has gone on over here.
You can catch up on more on my personal lifestyle blog here at Liv+Dave=,
come and say Hi! I am looking forward to hearing from you.
I also made some plans for this little place: So come back and watch this space!
Lately I have had a little passion for shoes and have written about flats, heels and luxury shoes every then and when.
As you might know however I am a professional Makeup Artist and from April this year instead of telling you about my favourite comfortable shoes from Clarks I will do a series about makeup.
I think I might know a thing or too about beauty and makeup.
And while we are at it, once we are there I really want your feedback.
What do you want to know? What do you like and want more off?
Just let me know! Throughout March I will have another month of shoe features.
As you are going towards Spring, Autumn will approach here in Australia, so exciting!

Recently I have set high goals for myself.
I have always been quite driven, full of ideas and motivation, but while failures are part of the journey,
especially for people that love taking risks, that constantly move out of their comfort zone the last year was mainly about preparing myself.
About getting very healthy, writing my goals down, paying things off, cleaning the closets out, applying for my visa and getting ready for a big move, this year is about get going, getting started, no longer waiting, it feels like the time has come and my work is starting to take off.
Many of my friends asked me how I do it all, moving to different countries, having my own business, keeping my blogs going, keeping fit, eating well and working, while still enjoying time with my man. I am not an old wise lady that knows it all.
I just take one step at a time. When you think about accomplishing big goals, it’s easy to get overwhelmed.
And while it’s important to plan things well and to prioritize tasks beforehand, the most important thing is to just take one step at a time.
Baby steps will get you far, they got me all the way to Australia, and I am still going, still learning still improving.
Take some shoes you can walk in for your journey as well. No matter if they are high heels or flat shoes, you don’t get anywhere if your feet hurt Beside my everyday Clarks I found another pair of super comfy and stylish little shoes by House Of Harlow (in the picture above).
Keep walking and you will get there! Let’s go!

During our last weeks in London, we have been designing new business cards for me with the logo printed in rose gold.
I am loving the colour at the moment, so I got rose golden shoes and a hairband too.
To match my business card: I am taken corporate identity to a whole new level!
While I am busy preparing for the unique wedding fair One Fine Day here in Sydney, I am having a wonderfully busy January.
And I like it that way. Being a makeup artist is such a wonderful profession I am feeling blessed each and every day. The couple and bride in the pictures above was the cutest most loved up I have seen in a while.
It was amazing working with them and to do her bridal makeup.
You know, when something just feels right?
2013 feels rosy golden.
The sandals are Marc by Marc Jacobs, the hairband is by MECCA, and the business cards are by Liv+Dave=

I love living in Sydney. The city is very spread out on a large area and there is such a variety of suburbs
all of which have their own unique vibe. When I was researching different areas to live in, I came across a website which categorizes
Sydney’s suburbs into shoes.
Yes, they came up with a shoe index for each neighborhood, to give you an idea about the majority
of people that are living there. Not always spot on, but such a cute idea.
So the city hobo website says if Double Bay were a shoe, it would be a high heeled slipper with a feathery pom pom or a Salvatore Ferragamo.
Sounds like I moved to a fancy area, huh?
Straight from Dalston in London into the chicest suburb right by water, the contrast couldn’t be bigger.
It feels good though, being able to go for a swim every single day during summer, feels like such a luxury.
Where do you live? If your suburb were a shoe what would it be?
In Sydney there is the choice of STRAPPY SANDALS, STILETTOS, low smart shoes like LOAFERS WITH NO SOCKS, HUSH PUPPIES, FLIP FLOPS, CONVERSE, BIRKENSTOCKS / CAMPERS and DESIGNER SLIPPERS among others. I think they got my area pretty spot on, it’s a posh little place, but so green and beautiful.
Having always lived in edgy cool areas, it feels very good to live somewhere just pretty and save.
Maybe I am getting old?

Pavlova, Clogs and Champagne, Red Christmas Trees…or how to celebrate Christmas in Summer!
It’s my first ever Christmas in Summer, being German it will be quite the opposite of the traditions I am used to in many ways. And still the spirit and the Holiday is the same one.
The colours are so vibrant here, and there are trees blossoming in bright red, which I find very Christmassy.
On my personal blog Liv+Dave= I shared a little, about how I feel and getting prepared for it. To make it short: I am super excited.
I am dreaming of a Christmas full of white and sweet Pavlova, I want to wear my red clogs, as they will make cute festive shoes and I will be sipping cool Champagne by the pool. At least in my daydream vision.
Swedish Hasbeens, are reminding me a little bit of home, growing up in Northern Germany with a Swedish heritage,
we used to spent some time in Scandinavia and I was always wearing Clogs.
Now in 2012 we might celebrate Christmas by the beach or at a relatives house with a pool.
Far away from all snow and Mulled Wine but I am still wearing Clogs from home.
It took me a little while to get used to the thought of a hot Christmas, but now I actually can’t wait.
Have you ever celebrated in Summer? How did you like it?
