This month it’s all about keeping the balance for me.
The weather is holding up strong over here, we are having still summer temperatures,
while I have been super busy buzzing around. Having early starts and late nights.
So what keeps me sane and strong for all the work?
Here are my essentials for balance this month:
Green Smoothies: Healthy fresh food makes all the difference, and although I don’t have the time to prepare complicated meals right now,
chucking some fruit and veggies into a blender and pressing a button can be done in 5min. I make a different one every day.
My Favourite right now: 1 banana, 1 pear, 1 apple, 1 handful of baby spinach, 1/2 cup of soya or almond milk, 1 tsp. chia seeds, 1/2 cup water, 1 tsp Supergreens Powder. This recipe makes about 3 sundae glasses of smoothie! Enjoy.
Comfy shoes: I do like to look somewhat professional at work and won’t rock up to a shoot or wedding in flip flops (although I sometimes have to bring them along when shooting on the beach!) So: Comfortable chic shoes, that look like I am happy to work in them all day, but still somewhat stylish.
The ones above are from Geox. There is nothing worse then painful feet, on a long day of work, it’s so distracting, flat shoes are the way to go!
Little Lunch Break Swims: Whenever I can I sneak out for a quick swim in my lunch break, not just a little exercise and movement, but also great relaxation for sore muscles. I also get the best ideas why swimming and find it clears my head.
Love Balm: So small, it fits in every pocket, it keeps my lips nicely moisturized, soothes any dehydrated areas or dry patches and makes a great cuticle balm too. It smells divine of natural rose oil too, the smell that opens the heart chakra. Jurlique Love Balm in Rose, sooo goood!
What keeps you balanced when you are super busy?

Recently I have set high goals for myself.
I have always been quite driven, full of ideas and motivation, but while failures are part of the journey,
especially for people that love taking risks, that constantly move out of their comfort zone the last year was mainly about preparing myself.
About getting very healthy, writing my goals down, paying things off, cleaning the closets out, applying for my visa and getting ready for a big move, this year is about get going, getting started, no longer waiting, it feels like the time has come and my work is starting to take off.
Many of my friends asked me how I do it all, moving to different countries, having my own business, keeping my blogs going, keeping fit, eating well and working, while still enjoying time with my man. I am not an old wise lady that knows it all.
I just take one step at a time. When you think about accomplishing big goals, it’s easy to get overwhelmed.
And while it’s important to plan things well and to prioritize tasks beforehand, the most important thing is to just take one step at a time.
Baby steps will get you far, they got me all the way to Australia, and I am still going, still learning still improving.
Take some shoes you can walk in for your journey as well. No matter if they are high heels or flat shoes, you don’t get anywhere if your feet hurt Beside my everyday Clarks I found another pair of super comfy and stylish little shoes by House Of Harlow (in the picture above).
Keep walking and you will get there! Let’s go!

It’s the little things in life that are making me very happy, like coffee in the sunshine,
or a new nail polish.
Nails are huge at the moment. Which makes me happy, since I have always loved nail colours a lot.
I am still staying away from nail art and sticking with simple uni colourings.
The other day I met the girls behind the hip nail polish brand Rococo Nail Apparel, Ange and Vernice Walker.
The talented sisters have worked as nail designers and celebrity manicurists with all the big names and started their own successful little family business.
At the same time they are also 2 very humble and extremely kind sisters. No wonder they came so far. Real team work.
And not only where this two interesting to chat to and told me about their passion for everything Japanese, including a slight very healthy obsession with Japanese food, they also offered to paint my nails and chose the coolest colour, which I now own as well (it’s LabNude 6.0).
A mannequin nude, somehow vintagey, somehow clean but edgy at the same time. Or in Rococo’s words: Supernatural.
Thanks ladies! So very nice to meet you, you have made my day.

I have had some interesting collaborations lately.
One of the photo-shoots I have done within a great Team lately was
The Olympian Goddess inspired shoot for that I designed hair and make up, that just got published in Racing Mind Magazine titled “Muse” p88-97
London life became very sweet lately. And I am so in love with my job. I am thankful every day for this new career.
It feels good to see so much colour in fashion recently, especially pastels, which have always been my favorites.
I will share some pastel make up trend goodness with you soon…

Work it harder, make it better, do it faster, makes us stronger, more than ever hour after our work is never over.
That has been the motto of the last weeks. I had a lot of great make up artist jobs.
One that I definitely recommend you guys to check out is the new online mag
Dashing Magazine, that has just launched now in December. I will do step by step make up tutorials in every issue, where I let you in to some professional make up tricks.
I absolutely adore the magazine, and hope you will enjoy it too.
December should now get a little more quiet so I can catch up with blogging and updating my website.
And for Christmas cookies and tea.
Have a wonderful Christmas time!

While I was reading here on This Is Jane Wayne lately I came across Nikes post about her vacation. She went home to visit her family in the countryside.
I have recently visited my parents in Germany as well, as I do once a year.
Growing up in a car road-tripping around southern Europe as a kid, followed by quite a few moves no place has ever felt home for me.
Maybe that’s the reason I continued moving myself?
Or it is just what most people in our generation do?
Going from one place to another. I have always enjoyed, where I lived.
And I miss all friends and great cities I left behind.
Berlin, New York, Berlin, London….
But I have never felt homesick. Ever. Home is with me, wherever I go.
I am 27 years old, an age that is mostly considered as still “really young” nowadays.
For me it feels like I have been moving around enough.
I want to build myself a home. I want to stay in one city.
Lately it seems like there are good chances that I will be moving to Sydney.
That is where my man is from and where his family is living.
It seems like it makes perfect sense to move down there.
But it is also one more time leaving everything behind, far behind.
Do you have a place that feels home? Do you ever feel like settling down?
