This month it’s all about keeping the balance for me.
The weather is holding up strong over here, we are having still summer temperatures,
while I have been super busy buzzing around. Having early starts and late nights.
So what keeps me sane and strong for all the work?

Here are my essentials for balance this month:
Green Smoothies: Healthy fresh food makes all the difference, and although I don’t have the time to prepare complicated meals right now,
chucking some fruit and veggies into a blender and pressing a button can be done in 5min. I make a different one every day.
My Favourite right now: 1 banana, 1 pear, 1 apple, 1 handful of baby spinach, 1/2 cup of soya or almond milk, 1 tsp. chia seeds, 1/2 cup water, 1 tsp Supergreens Powder. This recipe makes about 3 sundae glasses of smoothie! Enjoy.
Comfy shoes: I do like to look somewhat professional at work and won’t rock up to a shoot or wedding in flip flops (although I sometimes have to bring them along when shooting on the beach!) So: Comfortable chic shoes, that look like I am happy to work in them all day, but still somewhat stylish.
The ones above are from Geox. There is nothing worse then painful feet, on a long day of work, it’s so distracting, flat shoes are the way to go!
Little Lunch Break Swims: Whenever I can I sneak out for a quick swim in my lunch break, not just a little exercise and movement, but also great relaxation for sore muscles. I also get the best ideas why swimming and find it clears my head.
Love Balm: So small, it fits in every pocket, it keeps my lips nicely moisturized, soothes any dehydrated areas or dry patches and makes a great cuticle balm too. It smells divine of natural rose oil too, the smell that opens the heart chakra. Jurlique Love Balm in Rose, sooo goood!
What keeps you balanced when you are super busy?

Recently I have set high goals for myself.
I have always been quite driven, full of ideas and motivation, but while failures are part of the journey,
especially for people that love taking risks, that constantly move out of their comfort zone the last year was mainly about preparing myself.
About getting very healthy, writing my goals down, paying things off, cleaning the closets out, applying for my visa and getting ready for a big move, this year is about get going, getting started, no longer waiting, it feels like the time has come and my work is starting to take off.
Many of my friends asked me how I do it all, moving to different countries, having my own business, keeping my blogs going, keeping fit, eating well and working, while still enjoying time with my man. I am not an old wise lady that knows it all.
I just take one step at a time. When you think about accomplishing big goals, it’s easy to get overwhelmed.
And while it’s important to plan things well and to prioritize tasks beforehand, the most important thing is to just take one step at a time.
Baby steps will get you far, they got me all the way to Australia, and I am still going, still learning still improving.
Take some shoes you can walk in for your journey as well. No matter if they are high heels or flat shoes, you don’t get anywhere if your feet hurt ;) Beside my everyday Clarks I found another pair of super comfy and stylish little shoes by House Of Harlow (in the picture above).
Keep walking and you will get there! Let’s go!

Today I am featured at the wonderful fashion blog over at Misslkey.
Go check it out here.
Currently we are busy preparing for our big move.
I am so excited to be a Sydney based make up artist very soon.
I will mainly work freelance and hopefully plenty of gorgeous bridal makeup.
We got our tickets and I got butterflies in my belly.
Have you ever moved across the world?

Today the latest issue of Dashing Magazine has been published.
I love the whole magazine and read it today for breakfast with a cup of green tea.
Delicious.

Work it harder, make it better, do it faster, makes us stronger, more than ever hour after our work is never over.
That has been the motto of the last weeks. I had a lot of great make up artist jobs.
One that I definitely recommend you guys to check out is the new online mag
Dashing Magazine, that has just launched now in December. I will do step by step make up tutorials in every issue, where I let you in to some professional make up tricks.
I absolutely adore the magazine, and hope you will enjoy it too.
December should now get a little more quiet so I can catch up with blogging and updating my website.
And for Christmas cookies and tea.
Have a wonderful Christmas time!

you sucked me right in again.
The moment I landed the holiday felt already years ago.
Finally I got to update our own diary blog, not fully but hey, it’s a start!
I entered a Make-Up Artist competition (fingers crossed!) and I am all busy learning, improving and contacting for my brand new make up artist career.
It feels great to have new projects.
And hopefully soon I can share things with you guys.
I feel I don’t have time to think right now. I am just on the move, going with the flow and it feels good.
Maybe you enjoy a little peek in my holiday world?
Here can you find our daily adventures: liv+dave=
I highly recommend a Australia holiday to anyone. I absolutely loved it.

Liv in Melbourne photo by Dave
I am back!
Back from the most amazing holiday in Australia to still cold and rainy London.
The stress of the big city kicked right in but I start to like it back it here as well.
The new year started incredibly good and now it’s time to focus on the brand new job
and mostly the new career as make up artist.
I am excited.
My move to London, didn’t bring me anything that I have expected but loads of unexpected things.
And lot’s of wonderful things.
A new love, a huge holiday and starting a new career.
One that I have fancied since being a kid, and never seriously followed it, though I had lots of opportunities.
And it came back and knocked again, and this time I opened the door.
It means stepping back and starting in many ways from scratch again in other ways it means that a lot of skills
that I developed over the years will be coming together.
(hopefully!) It’s scary and exciting at the same time.
I am just hoping that things will fall in place, while I am working hard on my progress.
I will keep you up to date ; )

The other day on my way to work. Pre-coffee state:
-”Excuse me can I take a photograph of you, for British Vogue?”
-”Huh? Hello, uh sure!” (–vogue, is this a joke?)
-”Its for the online platform, and might appear on Glamour.co.uk as well…”
-”Ok!”
-”Can you just stand over there, yeah just there, in the middle of the street”
Cars and trucks almost rolled the stunning Condé Nast journalist over.
People don’t slow down (or even use the break) for fashion in London.

A few questions about me and my outfit followed by requesting my email address and I moved on.
She didn’t took any notes. This was pre-coffee state. I wasn’t sure, if that really happened.
I went back to the scene when I got my huge cup of coffee but she had gone.
Hm. Would she really remember to send me a link? Would she remember the details and the email address?
She did. Just now. And here it is.

It’s this time of year ladies.
Summer is over and leaves a little melancholic feeling inside.
With the change of seasons, people forget how to smile.
I feel I need to awaken my inner warrior.
I will fight for more smiles, for a new job, for my holiday, I will fight for more sunshine,
I will fight for my designs and my dreams, I will stand up for myself.
If necessary I will do it naked, with a sword. Looks kinda good.

What are you fighting for? Does the change of season affect you?

The first week with Jane Wayne started as one of the hardest I had in London so far.
Since my move in Spring, almost everything had been fallen in place and I just planned an amazing three week Australia holiday with my Love.
Then BANG! I lost my day job. Everything has been booked and even my new cool bikini
the Quilted Bandeau Set by Mouille arrived.

It doesn’t look good for the holiday right now.
Maybe I should match my new swim with my vintage camel coat? And fake fur hat?
How to wear a bikini in winter?

(Yeah, damn right: The bikini thing is not the main problem that I have to solve right now…!
The actual post title should have been: How to find a new job in almost no time that gives me paid holidays straight away…)
I just hope for a little miracle!
