Die Welt scheint infiziert zu sein. Von einem ganz sonderbaren Virus, der uns die noch sonderbareren 80er Jahre durch eine Art aufpolierte rosarote Brille sehen und wunderlicherweise auch hören lässt. Gott, was habe ich die Synthesizer-verseuchte Musik meiner Eltern verteufelt. Diese Herschmerz-geladene Popmusik der Dauerwellen-Generation. Und nun? Erliege ich ihr glatt selbst.

Schuld sind Musiker wie Crayon Fields-Frontmann Geoffrey O’Connor, der den Sound der 80er mit seinem neuesten Track ins Hier und Jetzt katapultiert und ohrenfreundlich umsetzt. „Whatever Leads Me To You“ ist zwar höchst romantisch, klingt dabei aber beinahe schmalzlos. Viel eher möchte man sich den eigenen BH um den Kopf wickeln und dabei wippend in die Haarbürste singen.

Den Track findet ihr übrigens Geoffrey’s Debutalbum (als Solomusiker) „Vanity Is Forever“.
