Job history: I did a fashion design degree then straight afterwards started as a designer working for Alberta Feretti in Italy, afterwards spent 9 years at Topshop working my way through from a buyers admin assistant to a buyer working across all product areas, then worked with Markus Lupfer helping him set up his brand which was fab doing Berlin fashion week, then onto ASOS which I’ve been for just over 5 years becoming head of buying

What’s your favorite brand at the moment?

Rachel: I’m loving that trainers are back in fashion makes it so easy to get around and still be stylish! So New Balance and Nike are a favourite!

Two important trends for spring/summer 2014:

1) Lengths – from maxi length drape soft macs that you wear as a throw on, long boyfriend shorts to cropped jeans its all about the new length; 

2) colour, I love all the pastels and also esp. white

Your ‚must haves“ for the upcomig season:

1) teaming with a friend to pull you resources together, but i think asos’s jewellery is the savvy alternative as there’s some great prices, styles available 

2) you could always rip an old pair of jeans you have, cut off the hem so it hits just above your ankle, then pull the threads to frey an instant way to make them look modern
