The seasons are in the process of change. I am hoping for a beautiful sunny fall, one with mild weather.
I am excited to update my wardrobe for the next season. I have already started.
My favorite work outfit right now is my vintage jumpsuit with these gorgeous women’s chelsea boots.
They are super comfortable and go with about anything.
As make up artist, I am on my feet most of the time and I can wear them all day on photo-shoots. I love the colour and the ultra soft leather. They have a cute name too: Clarks Kemble Biscuit. My favorite shoe for this season. And good start for my Autumn shopping. Happy Fall, everyone!

It’s time to honor London a post about everything I love in this city.
It’s been so good to us and I will make the most out of the remaining few months.
Many of you have gotten in touch asking for advice what to do, when visiting London,
so here it comes my little tour guide, which has been a guest post for the lovely blog Simply Us.
Where do you live?
I am living in Dalston, East London a very vibrant and multi cultural neighborhood. One that Italian Vogue and The Guardian named the coolest place in Britain. ; We love it here.
How long have you lived in Dalston?
I have lived in London for 3 years, after spending a year in NYC and 8 years in Berlin Germany, my home country. I constantly keep discovering this city myself.
Can you give us a little history behind London?
London is the capital of the United Kingdom and has been around for over 2000 years. It has experienced all kinds of drama including the plague, devastating fire, civil war, aerial bombardement, and terrorist attacks. It’s a lovely place ; )
What is something you find unique to London?
The great bus network, the Queen and how London somehow manages the split between a very big cosmopolitan city and very charming traditional British place. The look of the cabs and phone booths.
If you were planning a weekend around your town, what would the agenda look like?
A weekend is way to short! Try and stay a little longer.
Maybe have a browse though our adventures on our blog at follow some of the recommendations that look exciting to you.
London is a big city and there is so much to do and see. Here is a little pick of things that we love doing:
Start the Saturday with a good Breakfast at Caravan or Railroad Cafe taking a bus into central London and pick one of the many great Museums to visit. I love the Tate Modern, The British Mueseum, National History Museum. If you are into Fashion go to the V&A, it’s amazing. You can take a walk along the river Thames, where you can see most of the famous sightseeing spots.
Borough Market is not far and a great food market to grab yourself some lunch.
On Saturday night try seeing a gig or even in the Roundhouse in Camden, its a great venue.
On Sunday explore East London with a Breakfast at the Happy Kitchen . After that you can walk around Broadway Market, people watching and exploring little shops, get a few snacks from the food stands and sit down in London Fields park. Take a walk down the canal towards Shoreditch and visit another great market and vintage shopping Mecca : Brick Lane. Now you are very close to Columbia Road flower market which is open every Sunday, grab yourself a bunch of beautiful flowers. After you prob spent a great deal on shopping , coffees and cakes you can visit the very budget friendly delicious Stingray Globe Cafe and order a one of their great pizzas.
If you are up for more, or you visit in the cold season, spend the Sunday afternoon in a pub that offers traditional (or vegetarian!) Sunday roast like the Talbot.
If you are up for a very unique dining experience and money is no issue try the raw food restaurant Saf and you will eat what you have never tried before.
Best place to go shopping?
For vintage explore the area around Brick Lane, a visit in the Topshop flagship store on Oxford street is a must, if trendy boutiques are your thing try Shoreditch and Stoke Newington if you have more time is worth checking out as well.
What is the best coffee or tea house?
Despite a million coffee shops and cafes in London, it isn’t easy to find one that makes real good coffee.
The British love their tea, but I have always been a coffee girl.
The best ones you get at Allpress and Caravan. The coziest at The Railroad cafe and the friendliest at The Happy Kitchen.
When is the best month or season to visit?
London has a mild climate so it’s worth visiting anytime of the year. I prefer spring time, around May.

I have had some interesting collaborations lately.
One of the photo-shoots I have done within a great Team lately was
The Olympian Goddess inspired shoot for that I designed hair and make up, that just got published in Racing Mind Magazine titled “Muse” p88-97
London life became very sweet lately. And I am so in love with my job. I am thankful every day for this new career.
It feels good to see so much colour in fashion recently, especially pastels, which have always been my favorites.
I will share some pastel make up trend goodness with you soon…

Work it harder, make it better, do it faster, makes us stronger, more than ever hour after our work is never over.
That has been the motto of the last weeks. I had a lot of great make up artist jobs.
One that I definitely recommend you guys to check out is the new online mag
Dashing Magazine, that has just launched now in December. I will do step by step make up tutorials in every issue, where I let you in to some professional make up tricks.
I absolutely adore the magazine, and hope you will enjoy it too.
December should now get a little more quiet so I can catch up with blogging and updating my website.
And for Christmas cookies and tea.
Have a wonderful Christmas time!

Last week we were invited to see Gabby Young And Other Animals live at Koko in Camden.
Because Gabby has been wearing my dresses on stage at her Europe tour, her outstanding stylist Katie Antoniou invited us to the fabulous show,
along with a few other London based bloggers.
If you want to learn more about her style check out her blog here.

I was so deeply impressed with Gabby’s voice and her personality.
She seems to be very present, very alive and very… just herself.
She will take you into her very own playful and magical little circus world.
She is not trying hard to please anyone.
She is having a good time, and so is everyone in the audience.
Gabby was classically trained before being diagnosed with thyroid cancer in her early twenties. After recovering she continued her musical career, establishing her own record label, Gift of the Gab records as well as her own genre of music;
‘circus swing’. She is truly inspiring.
It was one of these concerts you are going to and you are feeling all warm and fuzzy inside afterwards, do you know what I mean?
Thank you, David for the best company, for claiming my camera back from security and for taking the great photos.

During London Fashion Week we went to the B store party, where Dave I.D. was playing live.
I discovered him a few months before that gig and was blown away by his music.
We even bought the album!
He seemed to be more shy than a show pony when I told him how great he was after his performance.
Down to earth, zero attitude and a music genius. Check him out!

This was such an English summer, we have hardly been outdoors.
As everyone might have heard as well, we had severe riots going on, which was a strange experience.
The last weekends have been fantastic and I have also finally made it to Kew Gardens, which I would highly recommend for anyone visiting London on a sunny day. You can find any plant from around the world there, great historical Victorian style glasshouses with jungles and deserts, and so many inspiring forms and structures.
I can’t wait to have my own garden one day.

We have also been for a delicious breakfast at The Elk In The Woods (yummy pancakes!) and way too much too good Pizza at Stingray Globe Cafe. HAPPY DAYS.

Every summer we are looking forward to one event: The Chap Olympiad!
It’s a fabulous one day vintage festival in Central London.
I had so much fun doing my friends vintage make-up and hairstyling.
Just like in the olden days in Hollywood….

Though this year we had to hide half the day under our umbrellas, (it was pouring down!)
we eventually had a blast and made a decision:
We want to learn swing dancing, or jive or something…
For the next Chap Olympiad and for upcoming weddings.

photo found here
Just saying.
Not that anyone told me the weather over here would be great.
I knew it would be crappy weather. I just wanted to see for myself.
And now I saw, felt and shivered through it. And soon I will have had enough.
Just saying. There is a loose plan. That plan is named Sydney.
In the meantime (about 2 more years) I am making the most out of this.
Because after all, London is a pretty cool place to be.
