Interview:
Metronomy kurz vor ihrem Gig

16.07.2012

JW: But that´s an „evergreen“, isn’t it?

Anna: Oh nooo! (Schaut jetzt noch angeekelter aus) I think I wore it for a week and then I got some horrible abuse wearing that at school – I never wore it again.

JW: What’s the best song in the world?

Anna: Harry Nielsson – Everybody’s talking – that’s such a beautiful, beautiful popsong!

Joseph: I would go for: „God only knows“ by the Beach Boys… (Stille) Hey, what’s so funny about the Beach Boys??

Oscar: I was thinking about songs I’ve been listening to in the morning and that made me feeling happy – „Complicated“ by Avril Lavigne is a big one for me. (Ich sehe Fragezeichen in Julias und Josephs Gesichtern. Oscar lacht über sich sebst.)

JW: Who would you like to be for one day?

Joseph: I probably would be a professional football player…  maybe beacause we just played football. Cause you don’t do anything and then you play football and you are really good and don’t get tired.

Anna: Ehm… What abut a pilot, Joseph? – Joseph: Fuck, yeah. A pilot. I loved to be pilot.

Anna: Just for that body: Liv Tyler. She’s really georgeous! – Oscar: I would like to be the president of the United States.

JW: If Metronomy was a farytale, how would it end?

Joseph: I think it ends probably with a village throwing a celebration, everyone drinking old fashioned beer.

JW: Your faveourite beer?

Joseph: The one I’m trying to think of… Kölsch! A german beer.

JW: What do you think about the movie „Clockwork Orange“? Is it a good one or does everyone like it because you have to like it?

Joseph: It’s difficult to argue about that film. Because at this time it was pretty kind of crazy. I mean it’s a little bit old fashioned, but if you watch it now you still feel like uneasy. And the music is amazing.  It’s a good film.

Anna: I agree.

Oscar: I don’t. I haven’t seen it.

Joseph: The reason why it’s good forever: The soundtrack.

If you were an author, which book would you have written?

Anna: Enid Blyton – Faraway Tree.

Oscar: Maybe something from Sartre..?

Joseph: I don’t read any books… No, seriously I would probably choose „The Fantastic Mister Fox“.
