Jane Wayne: Do you follow trends or is it all about what you like and what´s in your mind?

Augustin Teboul: It is more about what is in our minds and it has been like that for every collection since now.  On the one hand we can get inspired by a good friend’s story, on the other hand we often just try to create a story around a collection.
This one for example was about dreams that Annelie and me had. We met in our kitchen in the morning, had a coffee and wrote  down every dream for three months. And then there was this song… You know „dreams are my reality“ from „La Boum“ ? 80ies … It is lika a story of a teenager hiding and escaping reality through dreaming. So it is more a mixture of both aspects – what is realistic and what is totally absurd in a dream.

JW: Was it more about good dreams or bad dreams?

AT: Both. There is no good dream or bad dream. It is all mixed up. It’s like this wedding dress…

JW: Would you marry in black…?

Annelie: I don´t know if I will marry, but…it could be black for sure.

JW: „Dreams are my reality“ is the soundtrack of your collection. Do you live more in reality or in dreams?

AT: We try to keep our feet on earth, but look at the sky – it’s really like something inbetween.

JW: What are your personal dreams or something you really want to reach one day?

O: Freedom. (singing…“ free like a river“) I am not free but I´m working on it.

JW: How would it be like to be free in this society?

O: I feel almost free, no taboo.

JW: I just took a look at your collection and it seems like you spent many many hours of hard work for these clothes…

AT: We only worked these last months… it was only work. Everyday and all day. And night and weekend. It is a working progress. We mostly build our clothes on mannequins, so we don’t do that much drawings, and as a result it always changes a lot, because we are not planning. We try to keep it spontanous, so it can change in the last second. This is the beauty of creating something.
