“In 2019 we started Peach Socials, the community-centralised aspect of Peach where we focus on identifying the issues women face within the creative industry, finding solutions, educating one another and working together, because a strength in numbers enables us to get results and make changes.” Last week I joined the kick-off event of the Peach Socials ‚mentorship‘ edition hosted by the three kick-ass brains behind the whole idea @hollyannladd @chloehowelljackson @mywelltraveledfriend to discuss how we all can stick even more together (in male dominated work environments) and help other womxn shaping their own future. It was a magical evening and to be honest it felt a bit like a creative therapy to hear what other womxn were and have been struggling with during most of their career. When we for example started building @thisisjanewayne ten years ago, we didn’t know whom to ask how to do it and how it all works – everyone was keeping their secrets, being private about budgets and competetive on top. These times should be over now. Let’s grow, share our knowledge, uplift others and at the same time be open & willing to learn from one another. That’s what the ‚mentorship‘ will be all about.
